When you start monetizing with AdSense, Google uses a tiered threshold system before you can get paid. Each milestone unlocks the next step in verifying your account and releasing earnings.

What happens: Once your unpaid earnings reach $10 USD, or the equivalent in your local currency, Google automatically generates a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and mails it to your payment address.
Why it matters: You must enter this 6-digit PIN in your AdSense account to confirm you can receive mail at that address. This is a one-time verification for fraud prevention.
Timeline: The PIN typically arrives in 2-4 weeks via standard mail. You can request up to 3 replacement PINs if it doesn’t show up.
